I want to apologize to anyone who got their hopes up about it, but I just don't have the energy to make this work. I do believe that it could work, and that if it did work, it would be a very rewarding experience for eveyone concerned. The reality of it hit me though last night that the work I was going to need to put in for the guild, well, I'd just seen the tip of the iceberg. So, I'd say my miscalculation was my own dedication to the idea. Again, I apologize if anyone made plans on account of this guild proposal. Thanks to those who supported the idea, and the many chats that I've had from those interested. -Mabben 10/21 www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=49331

I'd be interested.
I'd like to see the rest of the rules published. Tradeskills would be nice to have in.
Don't see how you would police some of the stuff from Bazaar buying tho. Spells could easily be purchased from the Bazaar and told that they spent X amount of hours in PoV to get em. I guess, if someone is willing to start over and join this idea of a guild, it would be somewhat illogical to go against the rules.
You mention the word we in some of your rules & such. I would like to see the other names that you my be bringing in.
Most do DKP, simply because it works. Everyone needs upgrades. It would irritate me to no end to see a piece of equipment go to someone else simply because officers & leader thought the other person deserved it more, when I have worked just as hard to get it. We would all need the equipment simply because killing mobs would be the sole source of our upgrades.
Simply, if I work as hard as someone else in guild, I should have an equal chance at getting the item. It should not go to someone else to make the decision for us.
In-Game name is Sarinth for main and Sarol for bazaar mule if you wanna send a tell.

I might also be interested in joining. Is this going to be the board you use until the guild is created or scrapped? If it is I will add it to my favorites and check in often.

thanks for the feedback. I'll be using this board as a pre-staging area, and if I do decide to go ahead with the guild, will probably open a guild-website, even if it is just a guild-portal freebie site. Be sure to include info to get in touch with you if you don't plan on monitoring this site over the next week or so. (including what server you are on now ) If this guild does get rolling, I suspect it will start in 8 or 9 days, so, 25th or 26th of october. I'm going to decide by Thursday whether or not to go ahead and recruit. And then there will be another decision after that to decide if there are enough "recruits" to actually form the guild. If I go ahead with recruitment, I definitely will provide a more refined Ruleset. So if you really think I'm missing something, please lobby me now...it will become increasingly difficult to get me to change a position as time passes.

Well how would recruitment be made after that, some ppl might leave, if its a core member we would need to replace him for sure

Worst-case scenario is this: We start out the guild (remember, I want 100 ppl in the guild to start) and by the time the guild reaches raid content we don't have the numbers to raid. Essentially, we've failed at that point, and would have the option of recruiting normal players to fill the voids and becoming just a normal raiding guild.
Ideally, we'll have over 100 to start, and as recruitment continues and word-of-mouth spreads the success of the guild, we'll have to turn ppl away from the guild.
Realistically, I see us falling somewhere in between the two extremes.
Part of the luxury of this guild, as I see it, is that we will be able to include new members fairly rapidly by passing down gear and buffs to late-comers. As I envision it, If the guild kills trakanon, for example, and trak drops the warrior bp, that bp becomes raid-property of the guild and may be passed among guild-members to use--even someone starting at level 1. So, if someone's buddy has been watching us progress and thinks "woah, i wish I was in on that", his leveling-up experience will be less difficult than those who came before him (it would be even legal for his buddy in the guild to power-level him, or for the guild to raid buff him before he goes out adventuring). And up until mid-PoP, we could recruit in just this fashion.
Theoretically, I think it works out nicely--practically, not real sure. Not real sure there are that many good ppl in EQ left hehe
just as a note, the way that I'm going to define raid content is like this: If it realistically takes more than 6 ppl to kill a mob that was considered a raid mob when the expansion you are fighting within was released, then anything that drops from that mob is useable--even if tradeable. If the mob in question realistically takes a group or less to kill, then you can't use the tradeable gear. So, by the time trakanon becomes one-groupable, you could no longer farm it for breastplates. Similarly, we couldn't "raid" normal nameds in WoS because when OoW was released, those nameds were not considered raid content.

Aye that would be cool, just in the beginning mass recruit and see what's left till we are able to raid. Then can we recruit more specific ie only clerics / wizards let's say lvl 60 -65 ***AA, some continent like planes can only have 72 and GoD / anquish 54

Sounds like a blast! I am a deserter, I came back to eq from eq2/wow both, and being disappointed in both decided to come back to my old roots. Main is a 65 ranger on tunare-e'ci server, Tyvacious. Can reach me at my home email jsanborn@insight.rr.com. I'd be willing to play any class really, but honestly leaning towards cleric since I know the need will be great, and it would be nice to play a more "desired" class hehe.
I will be on tonight, shoot me an email and I'll make a stromm character. Stopped all my other MMO accounts a month or two ago, would be nice to do things the old way again, as it seems I had way more fun back in those years than now.

Haha, don't log on to stromm tonight...log on to WoW and EQ2 and find more of the traitors I'm trying to figure out how to find the folks who are bored out of their mind with WoW and want to come back to EQ-- I guarantee there are 100's of them. Just as a reminder, I am asking a lot out of ppl--it will be hardcore, so if you can't devote that much time to it, you may want to reconsider. Like I said in the proposal, 30 hours per week is the minimum I'd be expecting out of guildmembers. This isn't a "stop and smell the roses" type guild--Citadel of Anguish is the long-term goal.
